Open Positions in Centre for Credible AI

We invite: applications to join our interdisciplinary team advancing reliable and explainable AI in the newly formed Centre for Credible AI at Warsaw University of Technology.
We offer: flexible appointments from 0.5 FTE to full-time; contracts for 1 or 2 years with the possibility of extension; work in an active team in an excellent scientific environment with access to the state-of-the-art research infrastructure; participation in courses, summer schools, and conferences; competitive salaries (see below, for comparison, the median of Polish academic full professor salary is ca. 12k PLN gross/month).

About the Centre for Credible AI (CCAI): CCAI is an interdisciplinary research hub dedicated to developing reliable, credible, and trustworthy artificial intelligence. Funded by the International Research Agendas (MAB) programme of the Foundation for Polish Science (FNP), the Centre operates in partnership with the Fraunhofer Society to combine academic excellence with industrial expertise. Research groups are led by experienced scientists with strong international networks, such as prof Przemysław Biecek and prof Dariusz Plewczyński, ensuring world-class supervision and global collaboration. Research Software Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Supporting research projects conducted at the center.
  • Development and maintenance of software libraries.
  • Implementing good practices for reliable software development.

Required Skills

  • Fluency in at least one programming language (Python, R, C++) and libraries for AI solutions (e.g. torch, pytorch, jax).
  • Expertise in software engineering (design, documentation, testing).
  • MLOps: DVC/MLflow, artifacts, reproducibility.

Example Tasks

  • Development of a new method for analyzing models.
  • Implementation of the new method in the form of an open library.
  • Maintenance and development of the library developed at the center.

Annual Salary (range for FTE)

120k-160k PLN gross in the first year (+6% annual increase)

Researcher

  • Ability to work both independently and as a part of a team.

Example Tasks

  • Critical review of a scientific paper with identification of strengths and weaknesses.
  • Development of a new model analysis method, verification, and preparation of a publication.
  • Supervision of a master's thesis related to research conducted at the center.

120k-160k PLN gross in the first year (+6% annual increase)

Postdoctoral Researcher

Example Tasks

  • Supervision of the analysis of a model developed by another research team.
  • Execution of a work package in the grant.
  • Preparation of a grant application (individual or in a team)

Senior Researcher

Signature Impact

  • Interface with funding bodies and standards groups.
  • Institutionalize model validation, exploration and alignment.

Example Initiatives

  • Initiation of a multifaceted, multi-team analysis of AI models.
  • Launch a public dataset + evaluations for a selected foundation model.
  • Lead multi‑site replication & reliability benchmarks.

Annual Salary (range for FTE)

190k-240k PLN gross in the first year (+6% annual increase)

All roles operate within the same project team; they differ in scope of responsibility, autonomy, and impact.
