Assistant Professor (M/F) - Centre for Credible AI (CCAI/2026/R2/13)

Warsaw University of Technology is recruiting two Assistant Professors (postdoctoral researchers, R2) for the Centre for Credible AI in full-time roles focused on the exploration and analysis of AI models, in particular attention mechanisms, with applications in the space sector.

The position is funded under the project "Centre for Credible AI at the Warsaw University of Technology", financed through the FENG MAB programme (contract no. FENG.02.01-IP.05-0058/24). The selected candidates will design methods for the exploration and analysis of AI models, with particular emphasis on attention mechanisms, and will apply them to research problems in the space sector. The role combines independent research with interdisciplinary collaboration within the Centre for Credible AI.

Requirements

  • PhD in mathematics, physics, computer science, natural sciences, artificial intelligence, or a related discipline obtained no more than five years prior to the application date (extensions apply for documented research interruptions and parental leave as defined in the competition rules)
  • Proven experience in designing methods for the exploration and analysis of AI models, in particular attention mechanisms
  • Documented experience in research work on AI models with applications in the space sector or similar (previous cooperation with the European Space Agency is welcome)
  • Ability to conduct independent research and work effectively in a team, including readiness for interdisciplinary collaboration and mentoring or supporting junior researchers
  • Documented scientific publications relevant to the scope of the project
  • Very good command of English, written and spoken
