Assistant Professor (M/F) - 2 positions, 0.5 FTE - Centre for Credible AI

Warsaw University of Technology is recruiting two early-career Assistant Professors (post-doc level) for the Centre for Credible AI, each at 0.5 FTE, focused on trustworthy AI methods with emphasis on model analysis and attention-based mechanisms.

These positions are part of the Centre for Credible AI program at Warsaw University of Technology and are financed within the FENG MAB framework. The selected researchers will contribute to advanced work on exploration and analysis of AI models, including attention mechanisms and AI applications in demanding domains such as the space sector. The role combines independent scientific research with close collaboration in interdisciplinary teams and support for junior researchers. This recruitment is designated as supplementary employment (non-primary workplace).

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop methods for exploration and analysis of AI models, especially attention-based approaches
  • Conduct independent research and contribute to interdisciplinary AI projects
  • Collaborate with researchers from different scientific areas and support junior team members
  • Prepare research outputs and contribute to scientific dissemination activities

Requirements

  • PhD obtained within the last 5 years in computer science, mathematics, physics, AI, machine learning, natural sciences, or related area
  • Proven experience in designing methods for AI model exploration and analysis
  • Documented research experience in AI applications for the space domain or similar area; ESA collaboration is an advantage
  • Ability to conduct independent research and work effectively in interdisciplinary teams
  • Very good command of English
